My illustrations for the Lancet Neurology is on-going. Each month is a pleasure. I have quite a lot of time in that it is spread over three weeks, which is great right now and helps me schedule around my lecturing commitments.
Actually winning the commission came after a long period of hard work where I completely changed my approach to illustration. It was a gamble, as most interesting things are, but I’m glad I made the change and I am happy with how things are going now. Enjoyment has to be a big part of the creative process for me.
Writing on the other hand is full of setbacks. Still committed and still enjoyable so I keep going but time is limited and I am a slow writer because life interrupts!
